Back in München

We had worked out a very detailed itinerary for our two months of upcoming Europe vacation. Why not vacation a bit before settling down at the other end of the world? Our plan and theme for the next several weeks was to walk and hike as much as possible and explore every place by foot.

The first stop of course was Munich, my hometown. We stayed in one of my favorite quarters called The Lehel, which is right next to downtown, but quiet and not much visited by tourists. From here we walked all over downtown and even further in all directions.

We enjoyed meeting our friends that we kept in contact with over the decades, preferably meeting them in Biergartens and other outdoor settings.

Biergarten time with our dear friends!

Strolling through the Hofgarten

Walking in old downtown Munich

Walking back to our hotel in Lehel passing the old state government building

Stachus - one of my favorite landmarks in Munich

Enjoying a traditional Ice Coffee

We rented a car on the last day in Munich and will now drive for the next 44 days. Next stop is the Black Forest.
